Zdeněk Lhotský

After studying under Stanislav Libenský at the Prague Academy of Applied Arts, Zdeněk Lhotský established himself as an innovative artist that has pushed the technology of molten glass sculpture to accommodate the most complicated and imaginative designs.
Lhotský’s studio is the destination for artists from all over to have their designs realized, including the artistic duo of Libenský–Brychtová, Karen LaMonte, Mary Schaffer, and Michael Gabriel.
Lhotský’s line of plates, bowls and vases have begun a new trend in decorative pieces and interior accessories; it would be hard to find any parallel in glass design creation in the world.
Zdeněk Lhotský exhibits his work in group and solo shows worldwide including Libenský and his Students in Museum of Art and Design in New York, Glass Now 2003 and 2004 in National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia. His work is part of public museum and private collections throughout the world, including Switzerland, France, Denmark, Finland, Germany and many other countries.
